Download Full Movies On To The Box

XBOX MOVIES DOWNLOAD SERVICE

The video rental store received another blow today with Microsoft launching an Australian full movie download service.
Movies on Demand allows Xbox 360 owners with a broadband connection to watch standard and high-definition movies with no download waiting times.
Microsoft spokesman David McLean said more than 100 movies were on offer today and new releases, such as Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Star Trek, would be available next month.
New release movies would be available online a few weeks after rental and before Foxtel.
Movies will cost about $4, with new releases about $7.
Movies on Demand is part of an update that is available by logging on to Xbox Live.
The movie service is available to users with a free Xbox Live Silver membership and Gold member subscribers.

The main obstacle preventing digital movie rentals from taking off here is file download sizes.
An average movie file is about 1GB, while high-definition movies are up to 7GB.
Most internet service providers offer affordable 12-25GB limits per month, but higher download plans are expensive.
BigPond Movies already offers unmetered rental downloads.
Further choice is provided by the iTunes store, which has movie rental and download options, and Foxtel, which expanded its offerings this week. Rental chain Video Ezy has investigated full movie downloads.
